Freedom of Speech?

Our society today is far from the Constitution our founding fathers created.  We have become a nation of whiny babies who get offended about everything we don’t like.  So who gave us the right to be so selfish and self-centered that the only person who matters is me?  Psalms 119:165–“Great peace have they which love thy law, and nothing shall offend them.” (emphasis mine)

Self-centeredness leads to hatred, bitterness, and no good, solid relationships.  It is impossible to have a good, solid relationship with anyone when the sole focus is self.  “I have my rights,” we say.  Well everyone else has the same rights.  What makes one person’s rights superior to that of others?

The worldwide flood (a geologically proven fact) in Noah’s day was the result of “everyone doing that which was right in his own eyes.”

“Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes.”  Deuteronomy 12:8 KJV

“In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.”  Judges 17:6 KJV

“In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes.” Judges 28:25 KJV

“For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful.” Psalms 36:2 KJV

“The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.” Proverbs 12:15 KJV

“All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.” Proverbs 16.2 KJV

“Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.”  Proverbs 21:2 KJV

I use the Authorized King James Version of the Bible because it is the only English version that has not been altered by what man wants it to say, or what some theologian thinks it should say.  All of the modern “versions” have been interpreted from the Alexandrian text which came out of Egypt.  The Egyptians were not believers; they worshipped pagan gods and pharaohs.  God said in multiple places in the King James Bible that He would PRESERVE HIS WORD.  If He is a great enough, powerful enough God to create everything, does He not have the power to preserve His word correctly? If it is preserved correctly why do we need so many different “Bibles”? That which is different is not the same.  When we change words we change context and meaning.  Some “Bibles” have whole passages, even chapters left out.  Why would the authors of those different texts leave anything out? Is it to pander to our “politically correct” society? Who gave anyone the right to change God’s word? Man has much too high an opinion  of himself.

Today we are faced with the threat of losing our right to free speech.  Anything that offends anyone will be labeled as hate speech.  Then who will be able to stay out of jail?

“If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.”

George Washington
